Tighten the DUI Laws
http://kaliberdatasecurity.com/services/business-continuity-planning/embed/ It was incredibly encouraging to see the great message “Tighten the DUI Laws” in the editorials. It is definitely time for lawmakers to go “all in” against drunk driving; and it has to start with the underage drunk driver. A tough, statement-making punishment for youthful first time offenders is what it will take to show that it will not be tolerated. It is the “it can’t happen to me” mentality that often puts an intoxicated individual behind the wheel, but it is the risk this decision presents, that in the moment, is impossible to comprehend. I learned this lesson the hardest way possible – I CHOSE to drive drunk, and it killed someone. I am writing from prison, but long after this sentence ends, I will forever live with the reality of taking a life, and creating irrevocable devastation and heartache in the lives of two underserving families. So, if anyone in our legislature is reading this – I propose we fight fire with fire! Use me as an example. Let’s put the cuffs on, shackle me up, and get me in front of as many students as possible. Give me a chance to make them realize exactly why drinking and driving is NEVER an option!
